Photographs of the North Country.

To me, being an artist means having the ability to use a medium to evoke a feeling or memory—intended or otherwise. My primary mediums are photography and pencil drawings.

In my experience, nature photography has always been about capturing moments. The subjects I like to capture aren't always standard, but are always focused on helping me remember how the location made me feel. It could be as simple as the texture of water-worn stones, the curve of blown-back grass beside a windy shore, or fog permeating the morning mountain air. The tiny details that provide a sense of motion and tactility to an otherwise flat image. By capturing these unique moments in time with my camera lens, I hope to bring someone back to a place they can no longer visit, or help them go on an adventure from the comfort of their own home.

My pencil drawings emerged from my desire to create images with my hands for those I care about. With a focus on realism, I try to bring to life the plants and animals the people in my life love; there's been a personal touch to every one I've done, and my hope is that the thought and care I've put into the drawings is felt by each recipient.
